THOUSANDS OF PROPERTY ASSESSMENT APPEALS ARE NOW SITTING ON THE DESK OF THE VANDERBURGH COUNTY ASSESSOR. THE NUMBER OF APPEALS TRIPLED, BECAUSE RECENT ASSESSMENTS WERE BASED ON MARKET VALUE. THE RESULT LED TO PUBLIC OUTCRY AND OFFICIALS EXTENDED AN APPEAL DEADLINE THAT ENDED MONDAY. THOSE WHO FILED APPEALS BY MONDAYS DEADLINE WILL BE CONTACTED BY A TOWNSHIP ASSESSOR IN THE NEXT 30-DAYS TO DISCUSS THE APPEAL IN PERSON.
