Local Church Lawsuit

The Presbyterian Church USA has fieed suit against a Presbyterian Congregation in Evansville. Olivet Presbyterian used to be affiliated with the Presbyterian Church USA, but it broke away from that denomination and joined the Evangelical Presbyterian Church last year. The national organization claims its regional governing body owns the building at 5600 Oak Hill and it wants the congregation to pay rent to continue worshiping there. The suit was filed in Vanderburgh Circuit Court. No dates have been released for any hearings.
