While the exact Springfield location of "The Simpsons" hometown remains a mystery, for one night only Springfield, Vermont will be home to the animated family.
With more than 15-thousand votes, the small New England town won an online vote for the right to host the premiere of "The Simpsons Movie." It was one of 14 Springfields across the U.S.A. vying for the special honor.
In the video entry promoting Vermonts Springfield, a Homer Simpson look-alike is seen chasing a giant, pink doughnut through the streets.
Springfield, Vermont also boasted that it had many similarities to the cartoon Springfield, such as a nearby nuclear power plant.
Springfield, Illinois finished a close second with over 14-thousand-600 of the more than 109-thousand votes cast.
Springfield, Oregon finished third in the voting poll.
Vermont will host the premiere of "The Simpsons Movie" on July 21st.
The 13 other Springfields will also be given small screenings on July 26th, the night before the movie opens nationwide.
