The man accused of dragging a dog to its death pleads guilty in a Daviess county court. 34-year old William Todd Bowlds plead guilty before Judge Lisa Jones to animal cruelty and torture. Although Bowlds was sentenced to a year behind bars, he wont have to do any more time. He was credited for serving 62 days in jail, and must now spend two year on probation.
Bowlds was arrested in march for dragging a dog behind his car for nearly a mile until it died.
Residents of Mcfarland road, where the crime occurred have been outraged by the event, and have spent the last several months petitioning for a change in animal cruelty laws.
