A Princeton institution has been destroyed by fire. Dick Clarks Diner caught fire last night at around 10:30. Sunday was like any other day for the Princeton restaurant. It closed just an hour before the blaze broke out. The building has been in Princeton for the last sixty years--first as grocery store, then as a diner. The oldest part of the structure got the most damage. A firefighters says the fire was spreading in the attic faster than they were able to make access because of the age of the building as well as several layers of ceiling and roofing that had been added to the structure. The owner, Dick Clark, passed away sometime back, but his widow watched as the diner burned.
