breaking news
The Evansville Environmental Protection Agency and the Vanderburgh County Health Department have issued an ozone alert for Wednesday.
An ozone alert means the ozone is predicted to reach levels considered unhealthy for sensitive groups...such as active kids and adults, and people with respiratory diseases like asthma.
These people should limit prolonged outdoor exertion especially between noon and six when ozone levels are highest.
Remember no burning is allowed during ozone alerts.
Use of gas and charcoal grills is permitted but you are encouraged to postpone grilling until air quality improves.
A few other things to remember during an ozone alert.
Limit your driving.
Dont use drive throughs especially when lines are long.
And avoid unnecessarily letting your car idle.
This ozone alert may last the rest of the week.
