Teens in Pike County are coming to grips with a tragic accident that claimed three Pike Central High School students and left a fourth fighting for his life. The crash happened on Highway 57 North in Daviess County just a few minutes before 8 A.M. Tuesday morning. 16 year old Michael Lee was driving north when he swerved into the path of a south bound semi. Lee and 14 year old Brody Beard died at the crash scene. 18 year old John Hughes died at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. 17 year old Jesse Houston was air lifted to Louisville. At last report, he was said to be in critical condition. Friends say the boys were on their way to Indianapolis to attend an all day concert. Many who knew the boys gathered at Pike Central for information about the crash, and to grieve together. The same was true at the Petersburg McDonalds Restaurant, where Jesse Houston and John Hughes worked. "Theres not words to describe either one," said co-worker and friend Josh Pride. "Just amazing people." Samantha Sharp said the hours following the crash have been a time to lean on friends, and to cry on each others shoulders. "You know theres people out there that feel the same way you do about them, they know what youre going through."
