One-hundred-fourteen-year-old Edna Parker of Shelbyville is now considered the oldest person in the world. Edna, who was born the year the first Ford rolled off the assembly line and was married by the time cars filled Indy streets in the 30s, was a young bride. During this time, however, she lost her husband. She has never remarried and her farm and family have been her loves. Edna, later earned her teaching certificate at Franklin College. The title was previously held by a Japanese woman.
