breaking news
The town of Fairfield is asking residents to voluntarily reduce their water usage.
Officials say the town isnt in a crisis situation, at least not yet.
However, with reduced river levels, and increased customer usage, water levels can get dangerously low.
Fairfield Water Filtration Plant Supervisor David Boyd says, "Usually, pumping 850-900 thousand gallons of water would be a high day - right now were at about 1.3 million gallons per day."
Water officials originally put the request out at the beginning of the week and they say in just two days water levels have increased significantly.
They say Fairfield residents are doing a great job conserving...And they just ask that people keep up the good work.
