breaking news
A fire that began in Muhlenberg county Thursday is still burning a day later.
Emergency officials estimate more than 800 to 1000 acres have burned so far.
Firefighters from more than 24 agencies and T-V-A officials battled the blaze through the night and into morning.
On Friday drakesboro firefighters said they are confident the worst was over.
Fire Chief Todd Ford says the fire is now under control and believes a secondary break inside the original break will minimize the it even further.
He also says at this point there are no reported injuries and no structure damages.
The acres burned are partially owned by TVA and by private owners.
