State Representatives overwhelmingly okayed tax breaks Wednesday for energy plants in Kentucky. The House bill would offer tax incentives to state-approved companies that build, retrofit or upgrade alternative fuel plants, gasification plants and renewable-energy plants. Legislation now goes to the Senate for its consideration. Governor Fletcher says the bill is important for the future of Kentucky. The Lexington Herald reports Wednesday mornings vote came on the third day of a special legislative session. The session is expected to end Friday with approval in the senate.
