A woman arrested for selling marijuana out of her home lives in a Habitat House. Michelle Levels was arrested for child neglect and dealing drugs Sunday. Theyre designed with a special look, but the look of this Habitat for Humanity home on North Fourth Avenue caught the attention of a former volunteer after he saw it on television. "We go there quite a bit with my part time job." He doesnt want his identity revealed. Hes a pizza delivery guy who wasnt surprised to hear the news. "When they open the door I get the smell of marijuana, meth theres something going on that shouldnt." Habitat for Humanity confirms it is a home they help build now owned by Michelle Levels. "Habitat is about providing opportunities for folks to improve our lives and it certainly sadness us to hear she might be having trouble," says Executive Director Lori Reed. Levels was arrested there after police found more than 100 grams of pot inside. Habitat says this is the first instance they know of like this but they cant do anything because of fair housing laws. Applicants go through an extensive interview process and a lot of work to get a home like this, but not a drug test under fair housing laws. "Habitats role is to monitor house payments and make sure theyre paid on time." If that doesnt happen then Habitat would take action. Its a concern for this former volunteer who wants to see the homes build up the community not show up on the news because the police arrested someone inside. Police also questioned another man in living in the home, but levels claimed the drugs were hers. That man - Jamar Hooser - was arrested on two outstanding warrants.
