Call for Kentucky Drought Assistance

Governor Ernie Fletcher wants the U.S. Agriculture Department to declare the Commonwealth a disaster area. This request was made due to crop losses from drought conditions that began in February and continue today. If the USDA agrees, Kentucky farmers would be in line for grants, low interest loans and other assistance.
