The future of an Evansville golf course could soon be in jeopardy.
Vanderburgh county officials are suggesting that the land where Hamilton golf course sits would be better suited as a park.
Golfers at the park though say they would like to keep this course just as it is.
But the county is saying there may be a greater need to turn the property into something more residents will use.
Vanderburgh County Commissioners say Hamilton's 220 acres would be a great location for a recreational park.
They say with the amount residential growth in the area and competition from newer courses- it just makes sense.
The Hamilton family's lease on the course is up in 2009.
The county decision's on the property is expected to come in the next couple of months.
