Daviess County authorities are investigating an apparent double murder-suicide. The Daviess County Sheriffs Office responded to a 911 call just after midnight Tuesday morning. When they arrived at the home at 2351 Keenland Parkway in Owensboro, they received no response by knocking on the door. Deputies forced their way into the home where they found a dead man lying on the kitchen floor. A further search of the home found the bodies of a female and a young boy. All three had single gun shot wounds to the head. Based on the investigation at the scene, police believe Jerry Willoughby fatally shot his wife Sharon Willoughby, his 6-year-old grandson Chris Willoughby and then took his own life. Sharon Willoughby still had a pulse when she was found, but was pronounced dead a short time later at OMHS. Jerry Willoughby was 52 years old. His wife Sharon was 57 years old.
