The starting point guard for USI was taken to jail Thursday for allegedly dealing marijuana. Senior Kenny Page is facing one count of dealing marijuana. He was arrested around 5:00 Thursday after members of the Joint Drug Task Force found almost 57 grams of pot along with $800 in cash plastic bags and a small digital scale in his apartment. Detectives say they got a tip that marijuana was being sold from Pages residence at Golden Tower Apartments. When they arrived at his apartment, detectives say they smelled pot. When they asked Page why they smelled the drug, he told them he just smoked some. The detectives say they asked to search Pages apartment. Page signed a consent to search form. He told police he only had a small amount, but when police entered the apartment thats when they found the drug dealing equipment. Officers seized more than $950 in cash from Page. He told them he didnt have a job or a way to make money because he was a basketball player for USI. FOX 7 made a call to head coach Rick Herdes Thursday night. He said he hadnt heard anything.
