On any given day, there are as many as 400 homeless people who call Evansville home.
One out of four of them is a child.
A local organization called Aurora provides resources to those who are either homeless or on the verge of becoming homeless, but to make that happen, they need your help.
On Friday, September 21, Aurora will host "Jazz for a Cause" featuring New Orleans Hurricane Katrina evacuee Sherrie Bias.
She now works for Aurora.
Friday morning on A.M. Evansville she told us that people here underestimate the problem.
Bias will perform next Friday, September 21, at the Evansville Museum.
It all begins at 6:30 with a cash bar and dinner, followed by a concert featuring traditional and modern jazz.
Tickets are $50 each and can be purchased through Aurora or at www.auroraevansville.org.
