A southern Indiana sailor was killed in the middle east, but the death is not a result of direct enemy fire.
Shayna Schnell is a 2006 graduate of Perry Central High School.
Her grandmother says Schnell was stationed in Dubai last week when she became ill and took a taxi to the hospital.
On the way to the hospital, the driver crashed into a wall, which then collapsed onto the taxi.
Schnell died this morning from her injuries.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
Schnell would have turned 20 next week.
