ISTEP Moving to Spring

Rather than returning to school and undergoing a battery of standardized tests in the first few weeks of class, Indiana students will get a year to sharpen their skills before taking ISTEPs. The change goes in to effect during the 2009 school year.
Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels formally announced the move Friday. It is estimated that the state will save about $1.5 to $2.5 million each year over the next three years by moving the test.
Governor Daniels also thinks the change will allow communities to start school later in the fall.
