I-Step Moving to Spring

Indianas I-Step test is moving from the fall to the spring.
The educational assessment test given to grade school students will be administered in the spring starting next year.
The move is expected to save the state close to $2 million per year.
Today, Governor Daniels said since there will not be a need to cram for a September I-step test, school should start closer to Labor Day.
It also will give Indiana access to much faster grading of the tests, which will dramatically increase educators ability to help struggling students.
