Two tri-state schools are among an elite group of 11 schools in Kentucky.
The U.S. Department of Education designated Sorgho Elementary in Owensboro and Whitesville Elementary in Daviess County No Child Left Behind-Blue Ribbon schools.
The honor was established to distinguish and honor schools that help students achieve at exceptionally high levels and make significant progress toward closing achievement gaps.
Kentuckys interim Commissioner of Education, Kevin Noland, is scheduling visits to the two schools to give them personal congratulations.
