Theres only one more day to get your fill of food at the Fall Festival. Festival food is about more than just good eats. Its a major fundraiser for hundreds of community organizations. You can definitely get your fill of unique food here at the fall festival. And the money goes to local organizations. But in this line of food booths theres one thats overcome a lot to make it to this years fall festival. Food vendors at the Fall Festival will say anything to sell good eats from their booth. And the parents at the Greater Evansville Figure Skating club are working extra hard selling their "corn on the cob, meatballs on a stick." "This is our one and only fundraiser." says Sandy Junge Just about a week before the festival it looked like the group may not be able to sell anything. "The door was busted in and two windows were busted in and the tubs were broken and vandalized" The group saved what they could but had to leave out big items like fried chicken and popcorn shrimp. "We were only able to salvage one fryer." So theyre cooking curly fries and relying on smores on a stick Theyre using the community to get through this fall festival people are buying items and many time donating an extra dollar. "People have come just to say he im gald youre here and thats been fantastic." But theyre still not making money like past years. "Theres things we have to replace that we didnt have the time or the money." Despite the challenge the group is doing their best. "Were on the road to recovery." And plan on coming back bigger and better next year. The group says theyll need to hold another fundraiser this year to make up for the lost money. But theyll be back next year with a full menu.
