Update-Thousands Embezzled from Volunteer Fire Dept.

The Secret Service has joined the investigation into funds missing from the German Township Fire Department.
Financial crimes experts from the federal government will assist the Sheriffs department as they review the agencys books and bank statements.
Vanderburgh County Sheriff Eric Williams believes more than $200,000 was taken from the department.
Fire Chief John Buckman says the departments former treasurer, Susan Wargel, resigned when questioned about the missing money.
She has not been formally named as a suspect, but investigators have subpoenaed her financial records.
