breaking news
A tri-state mom is literally going to the ends of the earth to get her blind son the treatment that may give him vision.
Two and a half year old Hunter Burden suffers from a condition called Optic Nerve Hypoplasia.
The disease causes small and poorly developed optic nerves that have fewer connections to the brain.
Right now hunters mom Ashley Burden is on a fundraising campaign to pay for stem cell surgery in china.
The problem is the treatment is controversial and not approved in the U.S..
But Burden says she wants to give it a try.
She says she doesnt want to tell him that they couldve done this but they didnt because it was risky or not proven.
The burdens need to raise more than 25-thousand before January 6th just for the operation alone.
Theyve set up fundraisers and are also taking donations through a fund at First Kentucky bank in Beaver Dam, KY.
