The Spencer county town of Santa Claus is facing a water shortage and needs another water line. This could mean a rise in water rates.
The city council proposed a plan that includes a 29% increase in water rates for residents.
This has upset some residents who say that Holiday Worlds Splashin Safari should pay more for their use, not residents.
But president of the park, Will Koch, says they are already paying their fair share.
He says they will use about 10% of the new water supply, 26% of the current supply, but will pay more than half of the bill.
Another public hearing to discuss the rate increase will take place October 22nd.
