Indianas 8th district Congressman tried to lead by example in Evansville Monday morning.
Representative Brad Ellsworth was in town to get his annual flu vaccination.
He got his shot at the Visiting Nurse Association downtown.
With flu season quickly approaching, Ellsworth hopes Hoosiers will follow his lead and get vaccinated.
He says, "36,000 people a year die from influenza, and over 100,000 a year are hospitalized with flu-like symptoms. And so theres obviously a lot of problems there and it can all be prevented from clinics like this that offer the flu shot."
You can find out when and where to get your flu shot on the VNA website, www.vnahc.org, or call 1-800-326-4862.
This years vaccinations cost $25.
