Nearly 3000 mobile homes in Vanderburgh County are in line for a safety upgrade.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency has awarded a $300,000 grant to the county.
The money is earmarked to be used to retrofit existing homes in the countys mobile home parks.
Fema says the modifications will protect homes during high wind events, which should reduce structural loss and lower emergency repair costs.
