Should concealed weapons be allowed on college campuses?
Well some at USI think they should.
It was an idea that began with the organization "students for concealed carry on campus" in response to the Virginia Tech shootings.
They asked that students and faculty wear empty holsters in protest of state and campus concealed weapons laws.
Glen Kissel, an assistant professor at USI supports the idea because he says current safety measures are not enough.
He says blue security phones and text messaging will not save students.
But says someone with a concealed carry could potentially avert a real disaster here on campus.
USI President, Ray Hoops says he supports the student and facultys right to express themselves but thinks security on campus is already good enough.
