Peabody Energy will build its new plant in Kentucky. This was confirmed by company reps this morning. Peabody has been in talks with commonwealth legislators since early summer. The state just recently approved up to 250 million dollars in tax incentives to move the deal along. Henderson, Union, and Webster counties are all being considered for the new, three-billion dollar coal gasification facility. Whatever county gets the plant will get hundreds of jobs, too. The state of Kentucky has reported the project could mean nearly six hundred new jobs.
