A new gel may be just the thing to stop MRSA in its tracks.
A company call Tec Labs in Albany, Oregon, says its product, called Staphaseptic Bactericide Gel, prevents and kills MRSA, a potentially deadly, antibiotic resistant type of staph infection. It has been available at drug stores for about a year. The recent media attention on staph outbreaks around has been good for business.
Tec Labs Vice President Vernon Smith says, "One woman in particular had been dealing with a very similar situation to what I had for about 3 months. And she was on the point when on the phone she was practically in tears because she had found our product, used it and it had helped within a 24-hour period."
