Protesters ask politicians to take a stand against global warming. The Valley Watch group hosted the rally this morning at the civic center complex. Activists and local families made up those demanding that Congressman Brad Ellsworth "Step It Up" and take a stand against an increase in coal usage. Many of those attending say they voted for the Congressman but question his voting record on environmental issues. Protester, Carly Watson says when the "Renewable Portfolio Standard" vote for renewable sources came up he didnt vote for it and says that was very disappointing. Congressman Ellsworth did not attend the rally but was in town for UEs homecoming. He says he didnt vote for that particular legislation because he felt it would be very difficult for Indiana to comply by 2025. He went on to say the he is committed to cleaning up with the environment and working with rally organizers to make that happen.
