breaking news
Five southwest Indiana counties finally got their wish last night, and didnt have to set their clocks back for daylight savings. They are now on eastern time. Knox, Daviess, Martin, Pike and Dubois counties joined 75 other Hoosier counties on eastern time last night, leaving only six southwest Indiana counties on central time. Dubois county residents we spoke with were happy about the change, but wish the rest of the counties would follow. But the federal government says it wont consider any more time zone changes in Indiana for at least a year. In the mean time the current change may take some getting used to. Because these commuters now work and live in different time zones. Now 80 of Indianas 92 counties are on eastern time. And those counties left behind may find it difficult to switch over. Their economies are tightly linked with bordering states that have no intention of changing time zones any time soon. The counties still on central time in southwest Indiana are Perry, Spencer, Warrick, Gibson, Vanderburgh, and Posey county.
