Voters in Dawson Springs have good reason to be excited about Tuesdays election. Once the votes are counted, a native son could be the next Governor of Kentucky. Steve Beshear is leading the polls and Dawson Springs resident, Mike Bone says people are very excited that hes on the ballot. Bone says hes been a big force in this community all of his life. A steady stream of residents coming to the towns library to vote also had fond memories of the democrat. Hoping that a vote and a victory for him will also mean one for the town. Juanita Chappell says the town needs industry and she hopes that he can bring it. Many in town say they plan to watch election results with other residents gathering together at the city municipal building.
