High Court Could Take DC Arms Case
(Washington, DC) -- A potentially landmark case on the Second Amendment "right to bear arms" could go to the Supreme Court as early as today.
According to "USA Today," the case involves Dick Anthony Heller, a security guard at a federal building in Washington, DC, who earlier this year challenged the Districts 31-year-old ban on handguns.
A trial court threw out Hellers case based on prior rulings, but an appeals court in the Nations Capital overturned the ruling arguing that the Second Amendment does protect the right of individuals to bear arms.

Schwarzenegger Meets With Both Sides In Writers Strike
(Los Angeles, CA) -- With the Hollywood writers strike in its eighth day, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger met privately with union officials yesterday.
The governor is scheduled to have a similar, informal meeting with unidentified studio executives today, however several studio representatives told the "LA Times," they werent aware of any such meeting.
Meanwhile, there could be another writers strike in the works.
According to "The Hollywood Reporter," the Writers Guild of America East will vote later this week or whether 500 news writers, graphic artists, editors and producers at various CBS News outlets will walk the picket lines.

E..Trade Financial Corporation may be on shaky ground and on the verge of bankruptcy.
Thats according to Bloomberg.com, which reports the online brokerage lost over half its market value after forecasting a decline in fourth-quarter earnings.
One Citigroup analyst says Chief Executive Officer Mitchell Caplans strategy of building E..Trades bank by tripling outstanding loans backfired as borrowers failed to make timely payments and U.S. home prices declined.
E..Trades stock has dropped 84-percent his year, losing about eight-billion-dollars in market value.

Simpson Hearing Resumes Today
(Las Vegas, NV) -- O.J. Simpsons preliminary hearing is set to resume this morning in Las Vegas.
The judge will decide if theres enough evidence to bring Simpson and two other men to trial in relation to a September 13th confrontation at a Las Vegas hotel.
Last Friday, a key witness in the case told the court he never saw Simpson pull a gun during the alleged robbery.
Thomas Riccio, the man who set-up the meeting between Simpson and two sports collectors, said the meeting fell apart when one of Simpsons guys brandished a gun.

Plastic Surgeon: Death Of Kanye Wests Mom Unforeseen
The plastic surgeon who operated on Kanye Wests mother says he did nothing wrong.
Dr. Jan Adams claims that he performed a breast reduction and a "tummy tuck" on Dr. Donda West before she died in California last Saturday.
According to TMZ.com, Adams says Wests death was unforeseen and could have been caused by a heart attack, pulmonary embolism or some other cause.
In a statement released yesterday, the Grammy award winning rapper thanked everyone for the outpouring of support and kind words.

Man Cited For Porn On Wheels
(Fort Worth, TX) -- Fort Worth, Texas police pulled a driver over yesterday after an officer spotted a porn movie playing inside the mans car.
According to the "Fort Worth Star-Telegram," the police report says a ten-inch screen pointing toward the rear of the vehicle showed multiple people engaging in sexual intercourse.
The officer also reportedly found an open beer inside the vehicle.
The driver, 24-year-old Cameron Walker, was issued several misdemeanor citations.

Teens Lift 770-Pound Pumpkin
(Bainbridge Township, OH) -- Ohio law enforcement agencies are on the lookout for a stolen 770-pound pumpkin.
The prize gourd was allegedly stolen by four teenagers from a farm outside of Cleveland.
The farmer who grew the plump pumpkin had planned to donate it for agricultural research.
The teens reportedly stole the pumpkin with plans to take it to a pumpkin roll, which involves rolling pumpkins down a hill and sliding in the muck.
