Some are worried that public access tv may soon be a thing of the past here in Evansville.
Residents say - until Friday- cable provider WOWs community access channel has been off air for nearly two weeks.
David Johnson does a number of shows for the public access channel.
But last week Johnson says the channel dedicated to the community or channel 9 went black.
He says he was told that they had a breakdown but said others were told that they had stopped airing community programming.
Right now, the cable provider is airing football on the channel but Johnson says thats with the Indiana Cable Network and its not local.
We at Fox 7 tried to get a hold of executives at WOW to find out whether they would continue to air community programming.
But because of the holiday were not able to reach anyone.
Johnson says WOW is misinterpreting new FCC rules believing that they dont have to air public access tv.
He says has contacted the American Center for Law and Justice to prove that they do.
