A Henderson man described as a drifter is in jail after allegedly attacking a woman and stealing her car. The victim told Henderson county sheriff's deputies it happened early Saturday morning on Larue road, just outside the city limits. She says she allowed 28-year old Jackie Brent Lynch to take her home from a local meeting place. On the way, she says Lynch pulled the car over and assaulted her. During the struggle, the victim lost consciousness. The next thing she knew, she found herself on the side of the road. Deputies arrested Lynch last night. He is now in the Henderson County Detention Center charged with assault, attempted rape, and theft.
