A national magazine put an Evansville high school near the head of the class.
U.S. News and World Report says Evansvilles signature school is the 86th best high school in the country.
It is the first time the magazine has released such a rating.
It used information such as standardized test scores and student access to college level courses to come up with the rankings.
Signature School Principal Vicki Snyder says there are just two reasons her school made the list, good students and good teachers.
The report did have some criticism.
It says the school could reach out more to minority and disadvantaged students.
