Local Helicopter Pilot Injured after Landing Mishap
Knox County – Wednesday morning, December 5, at approximately 11:35 a.m., Indiana State Police responded to 2784 West Decker Chapel Road, Decker, after a local helicopter pilot was injured while attempting to land on a landing strip adjacent to his backyard.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Ken Snider, 61, was attempting to land his 1988 Schweizer helicopter in windy conditions when his aircraft flipped over and landed on its top. Snider was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, but was later air-lifted to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. Snider is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Earlier Report:
A helicopter is down in southern Knox County, near Decker, Indiana. The crash happened around 10:30 Wednesday morning on Decker Chapel Road, this is near the Knox and Gibson County lines. Authorities will not tell us what happened, but we do know that the pilot is alert, but pinned inside the aircraft. Rescue crews are on the scene, trying to free the pilot and assess the damage. Fox 7 has a crew on the way to the scene and will have updates as they become available on-line and on air.
