A huge cross once part of Christmas decorations at an Owensboro business is now gone.
The Texas Gas Transmission company is getting rid of its large cross after displaying it for more than 40 years.
It was a decision the company felt it had to make.
That according to e-mail sent to employees from President, H. Dean Jones.
In it he says its their policy not to discriminate on the basis on sex, race, or religious beliefs.
He says displaying any religious symbols in the workplace may show a preference for that religion.
But for those used to seeing the cross as a part of the holidays it is political correctness gone too far.
Claudette Fulkerson lives across the street from the company and is disappointed the cross is gone.
She believes the removal of the cross infringes on her rights cause she considers herself a religious person and its not fair...to satisfy a few.
President Jones also told Fox 7 that the decision came after employees came to him with their concerns.
He says he wants everyone regardless of their religion to feel comfortable working for and doing business with the company.
