The director of Evansvilles Parks and Recreation Department has resigned.
Gail Riecken submitted a letter of resignation to Mayor Jonathon Weinzapel saying, she had enjoyed her four years as the departments director, but would like to try something else.
Riecken said her most rewarding assignment in the position was the Aquatics Task Force.
Prior to the director position, Riecken served on city council from 1990 until 1999.
A search is already underway to find a replacement.
