Bookstore Fire

An Owensboro bookstore was closed all day Tuesday, after an early morning fire. The fire started around five that morning at the Books-a-Million in Southtown Plaza off Frederica Street. Owensboro Assistant Fire Chief John Vessels says an electrical short in a plug ignited a magazine rack in back of the building. At least 19 firefighters responded to the store, which sustained only minor damage.
