breaking news
Many bell ringers for the Salvation Army are finding their red kettles empty this season.
And it seems to be the trend among many local charities. Charity officials say it may have something to do with the weather and the economy. The Salvation Army and Easter Seals use winter donations to last the entire year. Its the Fantasy of Lights and the red kettles that generate the most money. They say compared to last year, theyre both behind thousands of dollars.
The light show will be going on until December 31st and Salvation Army bell ringers will be out until Christmas Eve.
