Evansville firefighters were busy tonight battling two blazes. The first at 110 Read street. A garage, with living quarters inside of it, caught fire around four this afternoon. The fire started in the center of the garage, and soon spread. Todays gusty winds only made matters worse. A vehicle was parked inside the garage, and may have been the origin of the fire. No one was injured. Another fire on Monroe Avenue also started in the garage. Firefighters had a few obstacles to overcome when a side wall burned the service line going into the house. But they were able to get the flames under control. The garage, and a vehicle inside of it were completely destroyed. Fire officials say a heater may have been the cause. Both fires remain under investigation
