Update 1/3/08:
The Mt. Vernon man who lost his home Monday, has lost his life, according to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Tennessee.
Stan Berritt was taken there after he was severely burned in Mondays fire. The Indiana Fire Marshalls Office has not yet determined what started the fire, but they have ruled that it was accidental. A passerby, Kevin Sturms, rescued Berritt from the home, but by that point Berritt was already burned over 60% of his body.

A spokesman for the office says a specific cause for the fire has not been determined, but an investigation continues.
The fire broke out New Years Eve around noon on Wolflin road.
The man who lived in the house, Stan Berritt, received burns over 60 percent of his body.
A good samaritan, Kevin Sturms, rescued berritt from the house.
However, theres no word on Sturms condition
