Fairfield Couple Arrested for Domestic Battery

Brooks_Donald2008-01-03-1199399947.jpgBrooks_Marrie2008-01-03-1199399967.jpg A Fairfield couple was arrested after police say they beat a 6-year-old girl. 51-year-old Donald Brooks and his wife, 56-year-old Myrtle Brooks both face charges of domestic battery.
The Brooks say they were caring for the small child for a friend who lives in Peoria. Police were told the mother whose name has not been released was planning to move to Fairfield.
The police investigation also reveals the child had allegedly been shot with an "air-soft gun". As many as ten dogs and cats were inside the suspect's home. The 6 year old was taken to the Department of Children and Family Services.
