Fire at Riverside Downs

Several horses were killed when a fire broke out in a barn at the old Riverside Downs racetrack in Henderson County.
Crews were dispatched to the scene around 4:00 Friday afternoon.
Some of the first people on the scene were citizens who tried to help free some trapped horses.
Firefighters were working to extinguish the flames for a couple hours.
The Kentucky State Police is joining Henderson County fire investigators in looking for a cause.
No people were injured, but officials with the Basket Fire Department estimate at least 5 horses died.
