Phone cards, snacks, and personal care items... Thats what the Evansville Teachers Association is collecting for troops overseas.
They announced the initiative today, theyre calling it Operation S.O.S.
The collection boxes already sit in every E.V.S.C. School, usually near the main offices.
The ETA is asking students, teachers, and staff to donate anything they think the troops in Iraq could use.
Then, February 17th, all the items will get boxed and shipped overseas.
ETA Spokesperson and Reitz High School Teacher Bonni Bell says the idea came to them easily.
"With the 163rd leaving, that was one thing we knew. It was coming up, so that gave us the idea to do this. We just wanted to serve all the men and women who protect our freedom."
Theres a list of wanted-items posted on every box or you can find the list on the Evansville Teachers Association website. Just copy the link below and post in your browser.
