New Dog Ordinance in Daviess Co., KY

Dog owners in Daviess County, Kentucky can now face fines while owning dangerous dogs.
A new county ordinance defines a dangerous dog as one that bites, attacks, or has attempted to attack any person.
Dogs deemed dangerous must be locked in a pen or structure at least 6 ft. high, 5 ft. long and 10 ft. wide.
The idea of the ordinance has been floating around since April after the countys animal control director began getting more complaints than usual about pitbull attacks.
Dangerous dogs will still be allowed in public, but must be on a 4 foot leash and wear a muzzle.
