Applications Being Taken for New Armstrong Coal Facility

Armstrong Coal Company is building new facilities in Ohio County. There will be two underground mines, three surface mines, a rail-loading facility, a barge loading facility and two coal washing plants. They're looking to fill 900 jobs, but not all of them will be available at once. The company started accepting accepting applications Monday.
     There are four sites accepting applications for the company.
Owensboro-Daviess County Career Center, 121 E. 2nd St., Owensboro
Ohio County Adult Learning Center, 130 E. Washington, Ste. 106, Hartford, KY
Muhlenberg Career and Advancement Center, 50 Career Way, Central City, KY
Office of Employment and Training, 50 Federal St., Madisonville, KY
        Applications must be filled out on location.
       To apply, you need current miners certification, a high school diploma or a GED.
