The University of Southern Indiana Board of Trustees laid the groundwork Thursday for replacing President Ray Hoops.
Hoops announced earlier this week that he will retire as of June 2009.
Trustees chairman John Dunn will also chair the search and screen committee.
That committee will review applications in September and October.
Five finalists will be invited for on-campus interviews next January.
The committee hopes to announce an appointment by March 1st with the new president taking office on July 1st, 2009.
